In the peaceful shade of the jungle trees, where the birds sang and the leaves danced gently in the breeze, a heartwarming scene was unfolding. Two monkeys—Cheko and Santa—sat side by side, sharing a meal, their faces glowing with joy. It wasn’t just any ordinary meal. This one was special. Today, after many weeks apart, Cheko and Santa had finally found each other again.
Cheko and Santa had grown up together in the same troop. From the time they were little, they played, swung through the trees, and shared their food every day. They were more than friends—they were like brothers. Wherever one went, the other followed.
But one day, during a big storm, the troop got separated. Trees crashed, branches broke, and in the confusion, Santa was carried far away with a different group of monkeys. The jungle was vast and full of hidden paths. Cheko searched and waited, hoping he would one day see Santa again.
Days turned into weeks. Cheko missed his friend deeply. He would sit on the same branch they used to rest on and look into the distance, wondering if Santa was doing the same.
Then, early this morning, as the sun rose over the treetops, something incredible happened. Cheko heard a familiar call—a playful, high-pitched hoot. He turned his head quickly, heart racing. Could it be?
Swinging down from a tall tree was Santa, his eyes wide with excitement and a grin stretched across his face. Cheko could hardly believe it. The two friends ran toward each other and hugged tightly, squeaking and jumping in pure joy. Other monkeys gathered around, clapping and chirping, sensing the happiness in the air.
After all the hugs and laughs, Cheko grabbed a bunch of ripe bananas he had picked earlier, and Santa brought a handful of figs and berries. They sat together, under their favorite tree, and began eating like old times—passing pieces back and forth, talking between bites, and smiling nonstop.
“So much has happened,” Santa said, his mouth full of berries.
“I never stopped hoping we’d meet again,” Cheko replied.
They talked about everything—the monkeys they’d met, the places they’d explored, the trees they’d climbed. But mostly, they just enjoyed the moment, happy to be together again.
As the sun climbed higher and the jungle came to life around them, the two friends sat side by side, their hearts full and their bellies getting there too. It was a simple meal, but to them, it felt like a feast—because it was shared with someone who truly mattered.
