monkeys. Born unexpectedly in a rare multiple birth, the babies had been under the close care of human caretakers for the first few days of their lives due to their fragile health and small size.
The babies had survived, grown stronger, and were now ready to meet their parents for the very first time. Everyone at the sanctuary was both excited and nervous. Would SokYaa and her mate accept all four babies? Would they recognize them? Would it be gentle and peaceful — or chaotic and scary?
The babies were placed in a soft basket lined with leaves and blankets. One by one, they squirmed and squeaked, their eyes still adjusting to the light of the outside world. Their soft fur and helpless cries tugged at the hearts of all who watched.
Then, SokYaa was gently released into the enclosure.
She stepped forward slowly, sniffing the air. Her eyes locked onto the basket immediately. She let out a deep, curious sound, halfway between a question and a call. Then the male followed, a few steps behind her, equally alert but visibly anxious.
As they approached the babies, the atmosphere tensed. SokYaa reached out with trembling fingers, touching one baby gently. The tiny infant squeaked. SokYaa flinched back for a moment — but then something changed. Her instincts took over.
With a deep, emotional gaze, she cradled the first baby in her arms. Her partner stood nearby, watching intently, almost frozen. The second baby reached out toward him. Slowly, gently, the father scooped the tiny one into his lap.
Tears welled up in the eyes of the caretakers. The scene unfolding before them was both emotional and unforgettable.
The parents began to groom, cuddle, and respond to the babies’ cries, one after the other. There was no fear now, no rejection — only instinct, love, and connection. It was as though, even without prior contact, SokYaa knew these were her children.
The father, who had been hesitant at first, soon leaned down and began gently grooming the smallest baby, showing affection in his own calm way. As the babies nestled into the fur of their parents, a powerful moment of unity formed — one that touched everyone’s heart.
What started out as a scary and uncertain situation turned into one of the most emotional reunions the sanctuary had ever seen.
SokYaa and her mate proved something timeless and true: love and instinct run deep in all families — even those that walk on four limbs and speak with chirps and calls instead of words.
