On a warm afternoon at the monkey sanctuary, little BiBu was unusually restless. He scratched his back, then his arms, then rolled in the dirt, clearly annoyed. Something was making him feel itchy — maybe dry leaves stuck in his fur, or maybe just the heat. Whatever it was, BiBu had had enough.
Instead of whining or waiting for help like some other young monkeys might do, clever BiBu took matters into his own hands — or rather, into his own paws!
He trotted over to the water tub, a large blue basin filled for drinking and occasional splashing. Usually, the caretakers helped give the monkeys baths, but not today. BiBu climbed up the edge of the tub, looked around to make sure no one was watching, then gently dipped his paw in.
The water was cool. BiBu smiled.
Without hesitation, he jumped right in, creating a big splash that startled a few nearby birds. He rubbed his belly, scrubbed his back against the side of the tub, and even dunked his head underwater. His tiny face reappeared, soaked but proud. He was completely focused on getting clean — no help needed.
Some other monkeys gathered around, watching with surprise. One young monkey tilted his head in confusion, like, “Is BiBu really bathing himself?”
When he was finished, BiBu climbed out, shook off the water like a puppy, and strutted away with his fur clean and fluffy. Everyone cheered. It wasn’t just funny — it was impressive.
BiBu had shown once again that he wasn’t just cute, but smart too!
