In the heart of a peaceful, green jungle lived four cheerful monkeys who were the best of friends. There was tiny baby Lily, curious and playful; bold little Leo, always ready for action; sweet Rainbow, who loved singing and flowers; and kind Libby, the gentle and wise caretaker of the group.
Each day in the jungle was filled with fun and laughter. The monkeys swung from vines, played tag among the trees, and shared fresh fruit under the sunshine. But one afternoon, something unexpected happened.
As the group played near a sparkling stream, Lily spotted a bright butterfly fluttering nearby. It was golden-yellow with shiny blue spots, and Lily’s eyes lit up with excitement.
“I want to catch it!” she shouted and ran off before anyone could stop her.
“Wait, Lily!” called Leo. “Not too far!”
But Lily was already chasing the butterfly through the trees. She giggled as it danced just out of reach. Without realizing, she ran far from her friends, deeper into the jungle. Then—slip!—her tiny foot slid on a mossy rock, and she tumbled down a small slope with a soft thud.
“Ow…” Lily whimpered, sitting up slowly. Her leg hurt, and now she was all alone.
Back near the stream, Rainbow noticed something was wrong. “Where’s Lily?” she asked, looking around.
“She went after that butterfly,” said Leo, frowning. “We have to find her!”
Without delay, Leo, Rainbow, and Libby ran into the trees, calling her name: “Lily! Lily!”
Soon, they heard a quiet sob near the hill. They looked down and saw baby Lily, her fur dusty and her eyes filled with tears.
“Oh no… poor Lily,” whispered Rainbow, climbing down carefully.
Libby knelt beside her. “Shhh, it’s okay now. You’re safe,” she said softly, examining Lily’s leg. “It’s just a little bruise. Nothing serious.”
Lily sniffled. “I got scared. I didn’t mean to run so far.”
Leo crouched beside her, holding her hand. “It’s okay. You’re not alone—we came as fast as we could!”
Rainbow handed Lily her favorite jungle fruit, a soft mango, to cheer her up.
Lily smiled faintly as she took a bite. “Thank you.”
The four friends sat together under the tall trees. As the clouds began to part, a colorful rainbow appeared in the sky, casting beautiful light across the jungle leaves.
Libby pointed to it. “Even after a fall, something beautiful can still shine through.”
Lily leaned her head on Libby’s arm. “I’m really lucky to have you all.”
“We’re lucky to have you,” Leo said with a grin. “You’re the bravest little monkey we know!”
The group laughed and cuddled up close. The jungle around them felt warmer, kinder, and even more magical.
That night, they returned to their favorite tree and built a cozy nest of leaves. Lily rested while the others sang softly and told funny stories to make her feel better.
Her leg still ached a little, but her heart was full. She had learned something important: even when things go wrong, love and friendship always make things right again.
From that day on, Lily stayed a little closer to her friends—and they stayed a little closer to her too. Because no matter how small the monkey or how big the jungle, no one should face their fears alone.
